Backhanded Compliments

My family is quick to point out back-handed compliments. You know them when you hear them, they sound like "for a fat girl you don't sweat much" or "you could be a face model". I received one at the CCA this past week; "I just heard that you were pregnant. Congratulations! I thought that you might be pregnant, but I wasn't sure." My response? "Uh... thanks."

I pulled out the maternity fashions this weekend. It feels great to be wearing stretchy shorts at week 9 1/2. It makes me feel really good (and fat).

Refried Beans

I am trying to increase my repertoire of dried bean recipes to spread the food budget a little thinner. I have heard that refried beans are easy, and I made these beans for dinner tonight. I sampled as they were cooking, and they are quite good! I will probably make them again.

Wheels

We bought the Little Tikes car for Claire. She didn't use it all that much. Lily didn't care for it either. Isabel loves it. It is her favorite thing to play with outside. I am glad that at least one of them plays with it.
