Visit

I took exactly 6 pictures when our good friends came for a visit a couple of weeks ago.  This is the only photo worth its salt.  I was too busy laughing, eating, or corralling kids to even think of grabbing my camera.

Thank you for everything J and L.  Our time together always goes too quickly.

Beach Morning

Why do we have the beach to ourselves you ask?  Because it is 64 degrees and a bit breezy.

Purplish-blue lips?  Check.
Chattering teeth?  Check.
Let's go swimming!

What We've Been Reading

Chris - Undaunted Courage, Ambrose
Erin - Poisonwood Bible, Kingsolver
read-aloud to the big girls - From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, Konigsburg
Clarie - The Sword in the Stone, White
Lily - Mr. Putter books, Rylant
audiobook series the girls are listening to - Gaurdians of Ga'Hoole
Izzy - Maisy First Experiences series, Cousins and Rupunzel, Zelinsky
the picture book I always choose - All the World, Garton Scanlon

We are in a good place with books right now.  Everyone curls up on the couch happily engaged to their respective stories.  I breathe deeply on the afternoons after morning library trips.  There is no sweeter aroma than children reading on the couch.

Bunnies

We spend our time waiting for piano lessons to finish in our piano teacher's backyard.  The entire time is usually spent feeding her bunnies dandelions or clover blossoms.  Its a win win win situation, entertained children.  well fed bunnies, and a weed free yard for our piano teacher.

Silhouette Project Complete

Ta da!  I love how the silhouettes turned out and how they look on the wall of our living room.

I followed instructions found in the comment of the Sutton Grace post found here.  Pretty easy.  You can do it!

Silhouette Project

I have been feverishly cutting these silhouettes the past few days.  I have to work fast when the inspiration moves me, as I never know when my sluggishness will return.  I'll work on Gus' tonight and post the finished project sometime next week.
I love these profile pictures.  So seriously posed!

Frozen Strawberry Lemonade

In a blender combine:

1/4 c simple syrup
1/2 c lemon juice
1 pint frozen strawberries
some ice cubes

Pour deliciousness into a glass.
Drink through a straw.
Giggle when Lily says, in her little Lily voice, "Its like sweet and sour at the same time."
