Oh my! It was a fabulous day. I went to bed tired, and very happy.

5 Things
1. It snowed last week and yesterday. Ugh. Not ready for winter!
2. My life right now is a giant checklist. Shower. Get kids ready for Matins. Latin. Math. Piano. Reading. Snuggle with Gus. Lunch. Library. Laundry. Etc. Etc. Etc.
It is not a bad thing. It keeps me focused and on task, especially as I emerge from foggy sleeplessness. I move speedily from one thing to the next through each day, checking things off as I go. Chris has encouraged me to keep our children and their education as the top priority--and I have, for the most part. But oh!, how I wish there were more hours everyday! There are so many things always left undone. I don't like the feeling of always rushing, rushing through my days. My life is going by so quickly.
3. I have been doing a good job of keeping up in the laundry room, or at least with the washing, drying and folding. Pairing socks and actually putting everything away (or having kids pair socks and put everything away) is a completely different story. Whenever I ask kids to get dressed or to put on pajamas, nobody goes upstairs to their dressers. Each one of them goes into the basement to fetch clothes in the laundry room. Makes me laugh.
4. I made jam today. I meant to make some in July, but that would have meant dragging my very pregnant self to the strawberry fields during what felt like the hottest July ever to pick berries and then spend the rest of the day in the kitchen with my swollen ankles. Frozen strawberries were on sale a couple weeks ago. Win. Win.
Why are canned goods so beautiful?
5. Theo loves reading books. All my kids love reading books, but it has been since Claire that I have had an infant that loves reading books. I read baby Claire piles and piles of books everyday--I had no idea what else to do with her. I was so bored. :) How my life has changed!

Theo: 3 Months
The photoshoot didn't go as planned.
First, his new-found feet were too fascinating to look away.
Next, he needed to munch on his shirt,
and his favorite thumb.
Finally he lost it and it was time for a nap. My timing was way off!
