My middle daughter has voluntarily placed herself in quarantine this morning. She doesn't feel well, despite the smile for the camera. I find a strange pleasure in mothering children with bad colds. They want to be snuggled and let me baby them! Plus, they tend to be lethargic. So, I get to baby them and get a break while they are sleeping.

You are a woman after my own heart, Erin. I couldn't agree more with this post. Of course you feel awful when they are sick, but given the opportunity to sit on the couch quietly and hold your kids because that would help them feel better is a far more appealing idea some days than chasing your kids around the neighborhood and playing referee. I'll take their spirit and spunk most days, but I echo the thought that sick days can come as a blessing in disguise.
