The King's Speech

Chris and I went to see The King's Speech on Friday evening.  The story of King George was inspiring.  The set was visually striking--just look at the gorgeous walls in the above photos!  The actors did a remarkable job.  It was an amazing film and I would recommend that everyone watch it.  Well, not everyone, it is rated R for some foul language (dare I say appropriate foul language?).  We are happy that it won Best Picture last night.  The film deserves the heaping accolades!

I loved that movie! (Although my mom would probably pass out if she heard him use the F word.)

Lionel: I believe sucking smoke into your lungs will kill you.
George: My physicians say it relaxes the throat.
Lionel: They're idiots.
George: They've all been knighted.
Lionel: Makes it official then.

We loved this movie, as well. Can't wait to see it again! When they played little clips yesterday...especially when he was giving that first major speech on the radio...I got chills. Awesome movie. ; )

We really want to see this movie. Those who have seen it, is it mainly just foul language that has earned the R rating? My daughter (age 15) stutters and we would really like to take her with us but I didn't realize it was rated R. If it's mostly for language, she can handle that.

It's only the language, and is not gratuitous, but connected, in a humorous way to his speech therapy.
