Boys' Room

Chris and I have been working our way through a long to-do list this summer which we have dubbed Extreme Nesting.  Preparing the boys' room was one of the major items.  Isabel moved into the girls' room, and we started boying up this room one tiny project at a time.  We can't wait for Gussy's new roommate!

I love that Lazy-Boy recliner.  My parents bought it for us 10 years ago when I was very pregnant with Claire.  I have nursed, rocked, and fallen asleep during night-time feedings with all my babies in that chair.  I am not a sentimental person, but that ugly rocker means a lot to me.

1. I made curtains!  What a feat!  So proud of myself!  They are lined with black out fabric and attached to the rods with curtain clips.  Love them.
2. We (my husband and male relatives) moved the beige rug into the girls' room, and put in this blue rug.  Very boyish.  No?
3.  I made a paper bunting.  I was going to make a cloth one, but it seemed too laborious and expensive.  The cardstock and ribbon was $3 total.  Perfect!
4.  The baseball bats are vintage Louisville Sluggers from a parishioner's garage after he passed away.   I thought it best to keep them up high.
5. I am planning to frame a few baseball cards from my husband's vast collection.
6. I would also like to find an oak headboard (preferably 2 matching), but I will patiently Craigslist until something appears.

This is so boy and so awesome. I love love love the buntings. I can just picture two brothers sleeping in there at night or whispering silly things to each other and giggling under the covers. Well done. Wanna come extreme nest at my house?!

I hate most window treatments. They're always heavy, gaudy, ugly, and crazy expensive. I bought $5 white, sheer panels on clearance for our house and, like you, hung them with curtain clips. I love the curtain clips! So easy. So clean-looking. So not hideous.

Well done on both rooms, by the way. Your nesting is kicking my nesting's butt.
