Why do mucky, poo-ridden sinners cry and complain when God forgives and cleanses them of their sin? It's just what we do.
Your post made me think of something Petersen said in Sunday's sermon. "Scrubbing is always near violence. That is why dogs and small children don't like baths."
I think of this every time I wipe Oliver's face and he cries.
