H1N1

So.

Turns out Chris didn't have a man-cold. And what Gus, Isabel, Lily and Claire were sick with last week wasn't a cold either.

Gus started with a fever last week Monday very early in the morning, 1 or 2 am. Isabel was hot by morning. They were so sick--fevers, coughing, runny noses, and lethargic! Gus's fever got up to 105.2. I was concerned, but he never refused a bottle and seemed content to cuddle in my arms. Lily's fever started on Thursday morning. Claire started feeling sick on Friday.

Chris and I started feeling sick on Friday night. Saturday my fever got as high as 103.2. Sunday night's sleep was one of the most miserable I can remember. My head was pounding, my eyes hurt, my ears hurt, it hurt to breathe, I was freezing, the kids woke me up repeatedly because they didn't feel good, and every time I got up I felt like I would pass out because I was so weak. I told Chris that I thought that I should go to the doctor on Monday morning. He agreed.

The doctor diagnosed me with H1N1, two minor ear infections and the beginning stages of pneumonia. He prescribed me an antibiotic and I feel a lot better now, but it has been a long two weeks! I am glad to be back.

Whoa, I was thinking about you today, wondering just where you were. So sad to hear you were all that sick...so glad to hear all of you are on the mend. Izzy looks so tired...poor kid. (((Big hugs)))

Oh, no! I am glad you are feeling better. i am pretty sure we all had it too. The symptoms I described to the doctor made it seem like we had it. I never took anyone in though. All of us got it but Anna.

Oh. My. Goodness. I'm glad you're on the mend. I pray that we didn't give you the crud. Just reading all your symptoms made me sick. And poor Gus. Ugh. I'm glad you're feeling better.

I feel so bad for you. We think we had H1N1 in September. Thankfully we all got ours the same time. It's been a long time since I've had high fevers like that. Afterwards I got a sinus infection which made me go to the doctor and he said we probably had H1N1.
Then all of us except my husband got the regular flu a few weeks ago. I was lucky enough to get a really bad cough and ear infection this this time which took me to the doctor again.
I'm so tired of being sick and taking care of sick boys while I'm sick!I pray that this is the end of sickness for all of us-I'm afraid since this is only November though!
Try to get your rest-it takes a long time to fully recover from this.

Oh, thank goodness you're all OK. I was getting really worried about you guys and then Joe told me Chris told him you STILL weren't feeling better yesterday. <:(

Well, I guess the bright side is that at least you have immunities now, but yuck, yuck, yuck. I feel so miserable for you just reading through how awful it must have been. <:(

P.S. I don't know how she does it, but even feeling miserable, Izzy still looks so cute. Pathetic, but cute.
