St. Louis Zoo

Early Tuesday morning we headed straight for the St. Louis Zoo.  We wanted to be there early to take advantage of the free admission to the Children's Zoo, Carousel and Sting Ray exhibit during the first hour of operation.  It was a lovely, sunny spring morning.  I am sure that we were the first visitors to the Zoo.  It was fun to have the place all to ourselves.

The Sting Ray exhibit was pretty awesome. Because I was elbow deep in salt water petting sharks and sting rays I wasn't able to take any pictures.  All of us touched at least one.  It was fabulous!
The goats in the Children's Zoo were pretty great.

This one like to be brushed a little too much.  Yikes.

Playground.
Photo opportunities.  Frameable?  Not so much.
Tortoise!
Penguins!
Train ride!  Choo-choo!

The Insectorium was my favorite exhibit.  While some of the inhabitants were bone-chilling, these leaf cutter ants were so interesting to watch and learn more about.

The Butterfly Room was Izzy's favorite.

I highly recommend the St. Louis Zoo to anyone visiting.  It is a treasure to the city of St. Louis.  What a great place!

Erin, I took a picture of my kids in front of that same elephant statue last summer.(My kids looked a lot more miserable since it was July and HOT!)I grew up near St. Louis and we never got tired of visiting the zoo. I'm still amazed that it's free. I hope you were able to go to the Art Museum-supposedly it's free too. Glad you had a nice time in St. Louis.

Did everyone have their turn caring the backpack? Even Izz?

Izzy's face in the seal cutout is the best.

Lily looks like baby Lily on the horse when she was teeny tiny. Hair the same way, too?

Gustav is just pinchingly cute. Love it.

Cute jacket, Claire. Where'd you get it? Iowa?

WV: under; weirdness that it's such a simple word, hey?

Lauren, I have to bribe them to allow me to style their hair. They always want to wear it down.

DeAnn, That elephant statue picture was the best pictures of the kids the entire trip. It is on my desktop right now. I love it.

Kristen, WV: testy. Ha!

I love the St. Louis Zoo! It's even better that it's free! It looks like you had a great time with your family. I'm so glad!

Call me ADD, but I want to know how you did Lily's hair. My guess is that I wouldn't have the dexterity to do my own hair that way, and Maggie wouldn't be patient enough to allow me to do hers that way, but I'd like to learn what it is. Is there a name for the style, so I can look up instructions online or in a library book?

I do love the St Louis Zoo. Being within walking distance of the zoo was probably my favorite part of Gary's being at sem.
