In an effort to be more efficient, I've decided to try grocery shopping and meal planning for two weeks instead of one. Eventually I'd like to stretch the time period to 3 or 4 weeks. I'll see how it goes.
1. Lentil Soup, bread
2. Macaroni and Cheese, apples and salad (Pam Anderson is awesome)
3. Italian Wedding Soup, bread
4. Reuben sandwiches
5. Cheddar Bacon Ale Dip, homemade pretzels, veggies
6. Smoked Pork Steaks, BBQ sauce, roasted brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes
7. Hamburgers with onion jam, salad
8. Chicken Parmesan, salad
9. Split Pea Soup, bread
10. Fish, baked french fries, coleslaw
11. Angel Chicken, brown rice, veggies
12. Enchiladas, salsa, shredded lettuce, cilantro
13.Onion Soup, bread, fruit, veggies
14. Pot Roast, potatoes, carrots, green beans

Oh, Erin, you are my hero! I love planning my menus in 2-week stretches. I often find that sometimes I can stretch my 2 week menu to 3 weeks when things come up or we have too many leftovers. It's great. That's what I did the last month. Now we're out of food, so I have to go shopping today. Thanks for the menu ideas!
Your kids have an awesome palate. I was reminded of that again last week. We're going to work on that in our house. Perhaps it's because the head chef here doesn't like things like cilantro, lentils, split peas, cumin, or blue cheese. You've inspired me to make the kids try that stuff. Not me, just the kids. :)
Jan, We are going to have to chat about menu planning/ grocery trips. Knowing that you can plan for 3 weeks intrigues me.
Lauren, There are a lot of foods that my kids don't eat. Remember poison tomatoes and onions? Can I cook you split pea soup sometime? It is the most amazing soup...smokey salty ham, sweet carrots and peas, fresh thyme. Its awesome! Trust me.
Wow, two weeks! I guess that's possible but something I am definitely not ready for. I'm definitely going to make the Italian Wedding Soup sometime. Is it Cathy's version? That is seriously my FAVORITE SOUP.
P.S. I copied you. I'm going to try to blog meal planning too lol. It think it's so fun! You totally give me ideas. I especially like the links if they're available. We tried that Cauliflower dish you had a few weeks ago. Trying to get more meat-less dishes in the menu. It was very good.
Yes, Erin, you can make me split pea soup. You had me convinced with the words "smokey, salty ham." Next time.
The pretzels and dip were very good. Thanks for the links.
Kerri
We made the chicken parm last night and everyone loved it!
